President's Message

Welcome Lake Seneca Elementary Families! My name is Karen Schroll and I am thrilled to be your Parent Teacher Association president this year. My son is a second-grader this year, and next year my daughter will be attending kindergarten here. It is an honor to be involved in their school experience by being a member of the PTA.

The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

We need more Lake Seneca families - you - to help with our school activities. Did you know that more than 85 rigorous research studies conducted over 40 years show that kids do better when parents are involved? Grades are higher. Test scores improve. Attendance increases. I think that is something we all can agree is a great reason to get engaged in the LSES PTA.

Engagement can be different for different families. Work full time, and can’t make it to events? No problem, perhaps you can help by designing a flyer for an event or provide goodies for a staff meeting. Only have time to come to one event? You could be an event photographer and have your photos appear in the yearbook. Have time to spare during the day? You might be interested in distributing flyers in teacher mailboxes. There are LOTS of ways to be engaged at the school. No one person can do it alone. I need your help!

This school year I would also like to you to feel empowered to make a difference in your child’s school experience. Involved parents can understand the challenges schools face and become part of the solution. When you become an active member of the PTA, you will be making a difference in the education, health and welfare of the children here at Lake Seneca. PTAs benefit everyone. Strong schools mean stronger communities.

I know this year will be a fun and exciting one. I look forward to working with you all to make this a strong community for our children! Feel free to contact me:
