About Us

What is the PTA?

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a group of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members who want to provide our children with an exceptional education. We are part of the larger organizational PTA branches, including the Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA), the Maryland PTA, and the National PTA, and a portion of our membership dues goes to support these larger organizations.

What does the PTA do?

The PTA supports the school by providing our students and teachers with programs, resources, and assistance in order to enrich our children’s overall educational experience. Some of what the PTA provides includes:

  • Cultural arts assemblies
  • Technology
  • Book fairs
  • Family-friendly events
  • Staff appreciation week
  • Financial assistance to teachers for start of school costs
  • Welcome Back Teachers lunch

Why join the PTA?

Every parent has the opportunity for an active voice and interest in their child’s education. The PTA can be a powerful tool in communicating with school administrators and teachers. It is a crucial link to providing our children with an exceptional educational experience throughout their childhood. The PTA helps you to:

  • CONNECT with teachers and administrators.
  • ENRICH our children’s education.
  • NETWORK with other parents, community members, and other schools.
  • SPEAK on behalf of your child.
  • INFLUENCE change within the school.

The PTA is limited in what we can do, however, by the funds that we have available. In order to better support our students and teachers, it is extremely important that we raise money for technology, programs, and special events. Our children deserve to have the same experience as children at any neighboring school. The PTA will strive to get our students the school experience they deserve by making their experience not only a learning one, but also one that is fun along the way. By donating, joining, or volunteering, you are making a difference in your child’s future. Please join us today!
