After-School Activities

The Lake Seneca Elementary PTA provides after-school learning opportunities in the form of clubs and other activities that allow the children to have fun while learning.

Here is the current list of after-school activities for the 2020-201 school year.

 

Online YOGA 
download (1)In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives.  Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class.

GROUP MUSICindex
Students will participate in an ensemble music group and may choose which instrument to play: piano, guitar, violin, or drums. They will learn about the instruments as well as how to play in a music group. Parents will be invited to attend on the last day of class. Free rental instruments and music are included, and students will take their instruments and music home between classes to enjoy.

ELEMENTARY DRAWING 
Untitled design(11)With school closures, due to COVID-19, we have a solution to keep your Young Artists busy learning new drawing techniques and skills. Young Rembrandts is excited to provide exclusive ONLINE courses to keep the kids busy and learning at home.  We have brought our time-tested curriculum and step-by-step teaching method into your home with our new ONLINE Lessons. Register as usual and we’ll deliver your lesson right to your inbox – no schedule, no restrictions just complete the drawing when convenient!

Online CHESS CLUB 
0Learn chess from a Silver Knights Chess coach! We teach more than 4,000 children each week. State and national champions have come from our programs, but most of our students are just looking to have fun! Class time is split between lesson and play. Lessons range from learning the rules to advanced tournament strategies, depending on the children. Play time is structured to pair each student against an opponent of similar skill. All grades and skill levels are welcome. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments.

SCIENCE PALOOZA – TBDLittle Scholars
Discover, experiment, and create as we learn about the colliding worlds of art and science in this STEAM-based class. We will create simple machines, learn about crystals and minerals, and dabble in the world of robots. Put on your lab coat and grab your art supplies because this STEAM class will rock your world.

DESIGN THE RUNWAY – TBDLittle Scholars
Design your very own fashion line with us! Budding designers will create a fashion portfolio, create a one of a kind piece with recyclable goods and end the week with a Runway Show to stop Fashion Week! We will participate in several design challenges too. Come design the runway with us!
