Membership Is On a Roll
Already this year 110 Lake Seneca parents and faculty members have joined the PTA to support our activities on behalf of the school and its students.
If you are not a member yet please consider joining us. There are many benefits to being a member, such as:
- PTA members can attend meetings and have a voice in deciding what programs and events we hold to support our children.
- Connect with our school and find out first hand everything that happens every day.
- Every member receives a free copy of the school membership directory.
- The PTA provides discounts to certain events such as movie nights to its members.

Delegates of the Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA) adopted six resolutions on Tuesday, October 25, in support of youth and education in Montgomery County. To summarize:
- Support for the principle of the Maintenance of Effort law and ensuring the success of every student through no further reduction in teachers, staff, maintenance, and security. In addition, MCCPTA called for effective rollouts of new curriculum to include consistent and comprehensive staff development and parent access to curriculum.
- Support for the prioritization of available funds to ensure school capacity projects and planned modernizations are not delayed; that HVAC, roof replacements and other building system repairs and replacements remain a funding priority; and adequate funding to provide our classrooms with the necessary technologies on an equitable basis.
- MCCPTA addressed concerns with the school site selection process, proposing the inclusion of representatives from all affected communities including those not affiliated with PTA.
- MCCPTA also specifically opposed the co-location in schools of County offices which do not directly provide services to students and families of students in the local school community.
- Finally, MCCPTA opposes a youth curfew yet continues to support efforts to combat crime through positive prevention programs and supports.
Kristin Trible, president of MCCPTA, stated, "As an organization representative of 50,000, these positions are a clear sign that our community is very much engaged in critical school and youth-related issues. It is gratifying to see the continued support for education as the priority in our county."
